Terms of Service
These terms cover quotes, orders and prints from Fairmont3d. By creating an account or sending a quote request you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to trap anyone; if something is unclear, ask before you order.
Quotes and invoices
A quote request is not an order. The shop reviews your files and settings and confirms a price by email with a Stripe invoice. The confirmed price is good for the period shown on the invoice (usually 14 days). Printing starts when the invoice is paid, unless the shop has marked your account to print before payment. Any estimate shown before confirmation is an estimate only.
What we print and how well
Parts are printed on fused-deposition printers in the material, colour, layer height and infill you chose. Dimensional tolerance is typically ±0.2 mm or ±0.5% of the dimension, whichever is larger; surfaces show layer lines, and supported surfaces show support marks. If a part needs tighter tolerance or a specific finish, say so in the request so we can quote it or decline it.
Your files must be printable as sent: we may ask for changes (wall thickness, overhangs, size) before we confirm a price, and we may decline a request. We do not print parts that are illegal to make or sell, or that infringe someone else's rights.
Failed prints
Prints sometimes fail. A failed print on filament the shop supplies is the shop's cost: we reprint at no charge. A failed print on filament you supplied uses your material; the grams used are recorded against your lot, and we reprint with your remaining material or discuss alternatives. Failures caused by a defect in your file are discussed before any reprint.
Filament you supply
If the shop has enabled it for your account, you may send or drop off your own filament. We log what we receive (brand, colour, weight) and what each job uses. Material lost to failed prints is yours (above). We store your filament free for 30 days after receipt; after that a storage fee per kilogram per month applies at the rate on your quote. Unclaimed filament may be returned at your cost or disposed of after 12 months' notice.
Your files and our work
You keep all rights in the files you upload. You give us a licence to store, process and print them only to fulfil your orders and to show them to you in your account. We keep no rights in your designs and do not reuse them. You confirm you have the right to have the files printed.
Acceptable use
Use the service for its purpose. No attempts to break the service, to upload malicious files, to misrepresent who you are, or to use the service for parts that are dangerous or unlawful. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Shipping, pickup and returns
Shipping is quoted per job and shown on the invoice; risk passes to the carrier on dispatch, and we help with claims for lost or damaged parcels. Pickup orders are held for 30 days. Returns and refunds follow the Refund Policy.
Liability
Our liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect losses, for the fitness of a part for a purpose we were not told about, or for delays caused by events outside our control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
When these terms change in a way that matters, we raise their version and ask you to accept them again before your next request. Questions go to support@fairmont3d.com. The service is run by Fairmont3d, part of Red Anvil Tech, Red Anvil Tech, Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
